What are the pros and cons of refurbished ones? And would you recommend one to a teen who is entering high school or are they too young?

refurbished means they were returned and factory repaired. I wouldn’t recommend an apple computer to anyone due to the fact that they charge way too much for their hardware. did you know you can install mac os x on a pc?(illegally)
it runs faster actually, because pc hardware costs somewhere around 1000 dollars less. If i were you i would hold out till october 22 and get a new computer then when windows 7 is released.

I have asked advice about a few refurbished laptops and people keep telling me not to pay more than 50 -100 pounds for them. I’ve searched everywhere on the internet and even the really old rubbish ones are selling at over 130 pounds so where am I supposed to find these cheap refurbished laptops that people wouldn’t pay more than 100 pounds for?
Not one under 205 pounds on that overstock page.

It looks like a pretty good laptop for the price, there are a lot of these new sub 400′s starting to come out that will really help jump the computer market. Most of them are coming with linux, but if you like windows I read some good news about the Eee here: http://techreviewdirect.com/626/hannspree-hits-new-low-with-hannsmilano-handbag-tv/

My laptop is 17″ (I know, big) but it’s been really hard to find a sleeve for it. I just want something to protect it when it’s in my backpack when I go to classes cause I’m in school now and need it all the time!!

Incase makes a good one. They say it is for a MAC, but normal 17in laptops should fit. Just be sure to check the dimensions. They have a few different colors to choose from…

I bought one 5 years ago, and it is still in great shape.

I am a sixteen year old high school junior saving up money for my first laptop and I would like to get wifi put in my house as well. I would like to spend between 6 to 8 hundred dollars on a laptop I can use for schoolwork and to put music on through itunes. Any suggestions on laptop deals or the cheapest way to put wifi at my house when we already have Verizon Highspeed Internet?

It can be compared to a mediocre desktop .but u can do all the normal day to day stuff with it and maybe play modern games on medium settings .the speed of the processor is 2.5 ghz .. :)

I’m really thinking about getting a Lenovo laptop, but I read a few bad reviews about Lenovo, like terrible customer service, software full of bugs, etc, and I don’t know if they just had a bad experience or is it really a bad brand.

Lenova used to be IBM (the original PC), and they supply mostly to teachers etc. through programs. They aren’t exactly an end user oriented company as they deploy entire fleets of computers and laptops.

The laptops are good and solid, but made for a specific purpose mostly… when it was IBM they used so many proprietary designs that customers HAD to buy their memory, etc because it was the only architecture that would fit.
